Last day off....

I talked Tony into going to the Botanical Garden to take some pictures of the stone sculptures. Here are some pictures that I took. (you can see a few more by clicking on the flickr link on the right side of the screen.)






Today is my last day off for a while.  Tomorrow is change of command, and Wednesday we are out on cruise.  Four more months away from home.  Hopefully it will be busy so time will go by fast.  Of course, I will have little time for blogging... if the internet is reliable I will try to keep it updated.  Otherwise, come December I will be back in business.

I was trying to capture the beauty of the clouds this afternoon.  I adjusted the highlights just a little in this picture in order to make it more like what I saw.

Another view of my garden.  This one highlights the purple heart that's in bloom, and the black eyed susans in the back ground.  I like the contrast of the colors.

I've been trying to take more photos and be a bit more active in Flickr and this blog.  In 3 weeks I am gone again - south this time, and for 4 months.  I will be back by Christmas, but I have no idea how frequently I will be able to post.  But I will continue to take pictures and will catch up on the posting when I get home.  

Photographising

Took advantage of a fantastic afternoon and went over to the Norfolk Botanical Gardens and fired off a few shots. I was very pleased to see that I was not the only one that had such a great idea - saw at least 4 other people also taking photos. Here are a few of my favorites - you can see more of them on flickr.
